A Harare court granted a protection order Monday against Mike Madzivanyika, who demanded $3,000 from his uncle over an alleged affair.

Kenneth Zhou sought legal protection after his nephew made late-night visits to his home. Zhou told the court that Madzivanyika threatened to burn down his house with his family inside.

"Mike visits my house at night, demanding money because of my involvement with his wife," Zhou said. He paid $15 during one confrontation to stop an attack.

Zhou admitted to the past affair but asked for forgiveness. "He threatens to have an affair with my wife if I don't pay," Zhou testified.

Madzivanyika traced the conflict to July 7 last year. "I found late-night calls between my uncle and wife on her phone," he said. "They had been dating and had sexual encounters."

He defended his actions, saying the betrayal harmed his marriage. "Your own uncle's betrayal hurts deeply. I'll keep pressing for payment," Madzivanyika told the court.

The magistrate ordered Madzivanyika to stay away from Zhou's home and suggested he seek counseling for his marital issues.
