Police found three people carrying drugs on a bus last Monday. The cops stopped the vehicle at a Mutoko checkpoint on March 31. They caught two conductors named Reason Gatahwa and Jarmain Fredricks, plus a passenger called Melody Shambira. These three had lots of illegal stuff hidden inside the bus. The search turned up forty-six boxes of cough syrup. The group carried Broncleer medicine, which contains codeine. Many young Zimbabweans abuse this syrup to feel high. The police also discovered two boxes of Salterpyn plus fifteen kilograms of marijuana. All these drugs cost about eleven thousand US dollars on the street. This big capture helps stop dealers from selling harmful substances to local kids. The arrest makes our roads safer for everyone. Just four days later, police grabbed another drug seller in Harare. They raided a fancy house on Brooks Drive in the Hillside neighborhood. The officers arrested thirty-eight-year-old Obey Kaseke inside the home. He kept party drugs called Mandrax and Ecstasy, plus more marijuana. These findings show how both fake lab drugs and plant-based drugs spread through city areas. Rich neighborhoods face the same problems as poor ones. The police boss, Commissioner Paul, talked about these arrests afterward. He promised the force would keep fighting against drug sellers everywhere. "We remain committed to flushing out drug peddlers from our communities," he said firmly. His team wants everyone to know they will catch anybody selling harmful stuff. They plan to make Zimbabwe free from dangerous drug networks. Both these cases belong to a bigger plan against drugs across the country. The police call their campaign #NoToDrugAndSubstanceAbuse. They work hard every day to find hidden drugs. Officers want to break up all the secret groups selling these harmful items. The recent arrests prove how serious the police feel about stopping drug problems. They ask regular people to report any suspicious activities they might see around them.
