Drug busts and odd finds along Mukuvisi River

Police arrested seven people selling drugs by the Mukuvisi River in a bushy area. Officers found marijuana and biscuits mixed with drugs during the arrests. The seven suspects are talking with police as part of ongoing investigations. National Police Commissioner Paul Nyathi shared news about catching these dealers.

The arrests happened on March 12 in the Mbare area near the Mukuvisi River. Police found broncleer medicine, many small bags of marijuana, and cookies laced with various drugs. The arrested suspects include 18-year-old Takunda Wayne, 40-year-old Monga Ndava, and 32-year-old Berven Kepekepe. Other suspects arrested were Bezel Marundira, Timothy Takavaedza, Tawanda Tembo, and Pedzisai Mutasa.

Police made another arrest at a roadblock on Inkomo-Darwendale Road. They stopped a Bolt Cutter bus at the 21-kilometer mark and arrested the bus helper. Dominic Matyora, who worked as the conductor on that bus route, faces charges for carrying unlicensed medicines and used clothing across borders.

Officers made yet another drug-related arrest in Mashonaland West Province. Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department's Drug Squad arrested Champion Munsaka. The 55-year-old man grew marijuana plants at Blackwood Farm near Chinhoyi. Police continue cracking down on drug crimes throughout the region.
