Egypt pushes back on splitting Gaza and West Bank

Egypt stands firm against Israel trying to split Gaza from the West Bank. Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty made this clear when he met Jibril Rajoub, who leads the Palestinian Fatah group, on Saturday in Cairo. They talked about the fighting happening right across both Gaza and the West Bank. Abdelatty described how Egypt works hard to stop the battles and send food and medicine into Gaza. He strongly backs the Palestinian Authority as the proper leadership group.

The Egyptian minister clearly hates what Israel does with its army in both places. He calls these actions mean and rough, breaking world rules about treating people fairly during war. Egypt firmly opposes anyone pushing Palestinians away from their homes and land. Abdelatty mentioned Arabs and Muslims have plans ready to rebuild Gaza after the fighting ends. Egypt keeps pushing for all Palestinian groups to come together under one leadership team.

Egypt wants Palestinians to have their free country based on how the map looked in 1967, with East Jerusalem serving as their capital city. The visitors from Fatah told Abdelatty how hard they work to bring all Palestinian groups together as friends again. They believe this step must happen before Palestinians can create their independent nation. Fatah really thanked Egypt for talking with everyone involved to make the fighting stop and help the suffering people.

Egypt works with Qatar and America to talk between Israel and Palestinian groups. These talks aim to bring peace back after much bloodshed. Gaza health officials counted 1,309 Palestinians killed since March 18, when Israel started bombing again. Another 3,184 people suffered injuries during this same time. The numbers keep growing each day as bombs continue falling across Gaza neighborhoods.

The Egyptian position shows they want unity for Palestinian land rather than letting it break into pieces. Military actions by Israel make this goal harder every day. Egypt believes that only through stopping violence and returning to serious peace talks can real progress happen. The suffering in Gaza touches Egypt deeply since they share a border and cultural ties with Palestinians. Egypt continues to play a key role in finding ways toward lasting peace.
