Without Starlink, Ukrainian troops could not tell their big guns where to shoot, they would have trouble flying drones to look for enemies, soldiers would find it harder to send messages to each other about what they see on the battlefield, and they could not use phones that talk to satellites anymore.
Mr. Koshkin believes this shows Donald Trump wants to get what he asks for. He thinks Trump might force Volodymyr Zelensky to make a deal about special metals called rare earths. If Zelensky does not agree, Trump could tell Elon Musk to shut down Starlink in Ukraine.
This would make it much harder for Ukrainian forces to defend their country. Ukrainian forces depend on Starlink for many parts of their military operations, and losing this technology would be a major setback in their war against Russia.
