The release of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exam results on Thursday brought joy and reflection to schools in the Coast region. Uzer Hussein Ali was one of the top students at Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Secondary School. He scored an impressive grade A with 82 points, and he was very emotional as he celebrated with his fellow students and teachers. "I am so excited and overwhelmed," said Uzer. "I can only imagine how my parents must feel. I did not expect this result." Uzer wants to study engineering at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in the future. The school's principal, Sheikh Rishard Rajab, said that 213 students took the exams this year. The top student was Abdulrahman Said, who scored an A with 83 points. Uzer Hussein and Najma Njambi both scored an A with 82 points. Seven other students got an A-. At Shimo La Tewa School, Fauz Jamal Kanji was the top student with an A of 81 points. Mwangi Emmanuel Ndirangu came in second place. Nine students at the school achieved an A-. The school's principal, Mutiso Mbinda Mathew, said that more students took the exams this year compared to last year. "The school is getting back its great reputation," said Mutiso. "The students worked very hard and behaved well." Light Academy also had some top scorers. Hamid Ali Muhammad led the school with an A of 84 points, the only student to score an A so far. Hamid's father, Ali Muhammad, said he was a very proud parent today. Kamau Ali, a teacher at Light Academy, was very happy with the results. He said the students showed a lot of hard work and motivation. The school lets students choose their study methods with guidance from teachers. The Coast region also had many other high-achieving students. At Mama Ngina Girls, six students scored an A-. In Lamu County, two students from Mpeketoni Boys High School got an A-. And in Kwale County, Ndanu Helen of Matuga Girls was the top girl with an A grade. It was a day of happiness and success for many students and schools in the Coast region. The hard work of students and teachers paid off with some great exam results.
