The airport keeps growing bigger every year. In 2024, more than 2 million people used the airport, which made it busier than Kenya's biggest airport.

The airport helps move lots of things between countries. In January 2025, they moved 5,069 big boxes of stuff. Some things left Uganda and went to other places; other things came into Uganda from different countries. Mr. Luggya said the airport will keep growing because Uganda wants to help more planes land and take off from there. They are making the airport better by building new things to help more planes and people use it.
