Christopher Mutsvangwa talks a lot as Zanu PF spokesman. He really dislikes Vice President Constantino Chiwenga. Their bad blood goes beyond politics – they're actually brothers. This shocking family connection explains why Mutsvangwa keeps attacking Chiwenga, who stands first in line to take over from President Emmerson Mnangagwa when his leadership ends in 2028. Family sources tell us Mutsvangwa feels jealous and angry because of ancient family problems. These troubles forced his grandfather to move from Wedza in Mashonaland East to Mhondoro in Mashonaland West. Three brothers once lived together—the grandfathers of Mutsvangwa, the late defense minister Moven Mahachi, and Chiwenga. They fought badly, splitting up the entire family. According to insiders, Moven's grandfather escaped to Manicaland and changed his name to Mahachi. Christopher's father headed west to Mhondoro and became a Mutsvangwa. Chiwenga's grandfather stayed put in Wedza and kept the important family name. He succeeded by buying guns from Portuguese traders at Kanyemba. The name "Constantino" actually comes from these Portuguese connections. Many believe Mutsvangwa desperately wants to reclaim his family's lost status. He seems totally focused on outshining Chiwenga in every way possible. He tries to appear more educated, brags about greater war achievements, and dreams of becoming president – all to make up for his family's past shame. Seeing Chiwenga rise through the ranks despite limited education drives Mutsvangwa crazy. Recently, Mutsvangwa called Chiwenga illiterate, cruel, and unelectable. But Chiwenga's supporters fired back, pointing out that Mutsvangwa performs terribly in elections. Former Zanu PF MP Killer Zivhu wrote on X that Mutsvangwa "can only be president if he's the last one standing." The feud has escalated enough that an upset Chiwenga privately asked Mnangagwa to control Mutsvangwa.
