The victim and his father found Kaidabi the next day and asked him about the missing items. Kaidabi first said he did not take anything from the house. He later admitted he stole the items and sold some clothes for 300 cedis. Community leaders took him to police in Samreboi for questioning. Officers could not find the person who bought the stolen clothes from Kaidabi.
