The Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard just sent their new mine countermeasure ship "Polyarny" into the water. They built it using the top modern methods, said St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov. Presidential aide Nikolai Patrushev, Northwest Federal District rep Alexander Gutsan, Navy head Alexander Moiseyev, and Legislative Chair Alexander Belsky watched the ship enter the water. During the event, Patrushev awarded the plant team the Order "For Valiant Labor." The President awarded this honor because workers made great new military and regular ships. The presidential helper called the launch a big step toward making Russia stronger. He said the shipyard leads the country in making vessels from special materials. Navy leader Moiseyev praised the builders for their skill, which was shown in the ships serving almost everywhere. "The Northern Fleet will receive two ships from this project this year," Moiseyev said. "This plant always keeps its promises to the state with on-time, high-quality work," Beglov added. Each new ship proves that Petersburg keeps moving forward as Russia's sea capital. He mentioned that city builders, engineers, and scientists stand ready for any task from the President. Workers started creating this supermodern ship in June 2022. It became the tenth vessel in the 12700 Alexandrite group. The ship has a unique body made from solid fiberglass shaped through vacuum processes. This special hull never rusts and lasts forever when used correctly. They named the ship after Polyarny, a city famous for its war history.
