Fog Forces JKIA Flights to Land in Mombasa

Kenya Airways planes couldn't land as planned today because heavy fog blocked the view at Nairobi's main airport. Instead, the airline sent flights headed for Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to airports in Mombasa and Kilimanjaro. The airline made these changes to keep everyone safe during the bad weather conditions. They care about passenger and crew safety above everything else. People waiting for these planes should expect their trips to take longer than normal.

The thick morning fog created dangerous flying conditions around the capital city. Pilots need a clear vision to bring aircraft down safely at busy airports. Weather problems like this happen occasionally during certain seasons in Kenya. The company had to make quick decisions about where to send the affected flights. Travelers might face schedule changes for both arriving and departing flights throughout the day.
