Her international performances spanned Japan, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, Australia, America, and Britain.

Parveen earned the Ekushey Padak in 1987 and National Film Award in 1993. Japan honored her with the Fukuoka Award in 2008. Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus expressed grief over her passing.
