Fourteen people died in traffic accidents across three districts between Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Police and hospital officials confirmed the deaths occurred in Dhaka, Feni and Munshiganj districts. The victims ranged from young adults to elderly passengers. Authorities began investigations into each crash. Officials work to identify some victims and determine crash causes. A 22-year-old man died after his motorcycle crashed in Dhaka's Tejgaon area early Sunday. Police found him injured on the road around 3:50 a.m. and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Doctors declared him dead upon arrival. Police have not identified the victim or determined what caused the accident. Two family members died Saturday evening when a train struck their auto-rickshaw in Feni town. The Chattala Express hit the vehicle at a railway crossing around 7 p.m. after the driver apparently ignored warning signals. Hafizul Islam, 40, and his mother Fatematuzzohra, 63, both died from their injuries. Three other passengers jumped out before impact and survived. Five people died in two separate Dhaka crashes around midnight Saturday. A truck killed three pedestrians near Azampur intersection in Uttara around 3 a.m. Two motorcycle riders died when their bike collided with a speeding microbus in Kafrul area. Neither rider wore protective helmets during the crash. Five bus passengers died and 25 suffered injuries when their vehicle rear-ended a truck in Munshiganj. The crash happened on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway as passengers traveled to attend a political rally in the capital.
