Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua visited Almighty God Ministries Church in Murang'a County on Sunday after meeting with political leaders from several regions.

Across the country in Uasin Gishu, President William Ruto's allies gathered at their church service. The group included Gachagua's critics - Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa.

Four governors joined the Uasin Gishu service: Jonathan Chelilim Bii, Wisley Rotich, Hillary Barchok, and Simon Kachapin. Even Gachagua's home constituency MP, Erick Wamumbi, attended this service instead of joining his former boss.

The previous evening, Gachagua hosted regional leaders at his Wamunyoro home in Mathira. Former MPs Peter Mwathi and Mercy Gakuya, along with other local politicians, attended. They discussed regional affairs and future partnerships.

"Leaders must speak to and listen to the ground. The people decide what they want," Gachagua posted on X.

Recent weeks have seen heated exchanges between Kenya's Kwanza allies and Gachagua. Sudi challenged Gachagua's claims about his influence in Mount Kenya during Ruto's election.

The Kapseret MP stated other Mount Kenya politicians had better qualifications for deputy president. He added that Gachagua ranked low in UDA's internal vote for Ruto's running mate.

These church appearances come amid growing criticism from Gachagua toward the Kenya Kwanza government, making his upcoming speech a focus of public interest.
