Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua kicks off a major political tour across western Kenya starting Thursday. The DCP leader brings along several top opposition names for what they call a liberation mission. Wiper Party boss Kalonzo Musyoka joins the team along with Eugene Wamalwa from DAP-K. Former Attorney General Justin Muturi and ex-Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i also travel with the group. The politicians plan to hit multiple towns across Vihiga and Kakamega counties during their two-day campaign. Thursday sees the opposition crew making stops at Luanda and Mbale towns within Vihiga county boundaries. They move on to Malava, Mumias, and Kakamega town for more political gatherings. The western Kenya visit comes just days after their Narok county rally on June 30. Gachagua called that event a massive turnout of people supporting their cause. He promised Kenyans would see an end to abductions and unlawful killings under better leadership. The opposition alliance has been touring different parts of Kenya for weeks building support. They held rallies across Laikipia County on June 29 before the Narok gathering. Their three-day Meru County tour from June 20 to 22 covered seven different locations. Earlier visits took them to Kirinyaga County on June 15 where they met with local supporters. The team wraps up their western tour on Friday with meetings scheduled for community leaders and advocacy groups.
