African sports ministers met in Banjul to fight doping in sports. The meeting ended with a promise to work with Unesco and others to make sports better in Africa.

It was the third meeting of its kind. Sports ministers and experts from Africa came together with people who work to keep sports clean. They praised The Gambia for bringing everyone together to help improve sports in Africa.

Vice President Muhammed Jallow spoke for President Barrow at the start. He said The Gambia wants sports to be fair for everyone who takes part.

Matar Ba led the talks about sports values and doing what is right. Ba runs the main Unesco group that fights doping in sports. He said Unesco has helped more than 250 projects around the world, over 70 of which were in Africa. This money helps teach people about doping and strengthen sports rules.

Bakary Badjie, who runs sports in The Gambia, said the plans made in Banjul will help fix problems in sports. These changes will help young people who face hard times, like drug use and leaving their homes, to find better lives elsewhere.

After the meeting ended, Badjie took some people to meet President Adama Barrow. They told the president what they talked about at the meeting. Badjie talked about new sports laws that deal with doping. Ba said nice things about how The Gambia leads in this work. President Barrow said sports brings people together and promised to keep helping young people and sports grow.
