The tourism office met on Thursday to make plans for drawing more guests to The Gambia. Leaders came to the Senegambia Beach Hotel in Kololi for a two-day meeting.
At this key talk, they looked at ways to tell the world about The Gambia as a place to visit. People from many parts of the tourism business joined in.
Momodou Ceesay, who runs the Tourism Project, opened the meeting. He spoke for the head of the Tourism Ministry. Ceesay said they have done deep studies about how to sell The Gambia to guests and how to bring in more money.
"We want everyone who works in tourism to help pick the right look for The Gambia," Ceesay said. "We need your wisdom to make this work right."
These studies show what The Gambia can offer guests, both in the country and near other countries. They also point out what needs to change. The reports came from examining how tourism works here.
Ceesay said the Tourism Ministry will continue to help with this. They also back the Tourism Board and other helpers to make this plan work well. This marks a big step forward for tourism in The Gambia.
He thanked all who helped from the start of this plan until this meeting.
Aboubacarr S Camara leads the Gambia Tourism Board. He thanked everyone who came. This meeting will help them make better plans to bring guests here.
"We did not have clear plans before," Camara said. "This meeting will give us good ways to tell people about our land."
He asked everyone there to share their ideas. He also praised the expert who helped them.
Dr Mike Fabricius runs The Journey, a company that helps places attract more guests. He thanked everyone and said the meeting would allow people to share many good ideas.
