The leader of Uganda's army, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, met with the American Ambassador William Popp at an army base in Entebbe. They wanted to be friends again because General Muhoozi had said some mean things about Ambassador Popp before and even wanted him to leave Uganda. During their meeting, they talked about nice things instead of the bad things that happened. General Muhoozi said America has helped Uganda a lot since 1962. He talked about how both countries work together to make each other better and stronger. Ambassador Popp brought another American soldier with him named Lt Col Christian Noumba. Ambassador Popp said nice things about how Uganda's army helps keep peace in Somalia by fighting bad people there. Before this meeting, General Muhoozi had been angry at another American army person. He wanted this person to show more respect by giving him a proper salute. But at this new meeting, everyone wanted to forget about the past problems and improve their friendship. The week before, General Muhoozi's father, President Museveni, met with Ambassador Popp and another important person from Britain. No one knows exactly what they talked about. Some people think they might have talked about problems in Congo and about Dr Besigye, who is in prison and has stopped eating food. Dr Besigye used to be President Museveni's doctor, but the army put him in prison. General Muhoozi said Dr Besigye could only leave prison if he died or said sorry. People wonder if Ambassador Popp asked General Muhoozi about letting Dr Besigye out of prison, but nobody knows what they said about this.
