Geza talks big but hides when he does it. He tells ED and his friends what he plans to do ahead of time, giving them plenty of chances to create plans against him. The way things might happen looks pretty interesting. Back in 2017, things seemed clearer because most security groups supported Chiwenga, except the Police and CIO. Today, even the armed forces disagree among themselves, making everything more complicated. We can clearly see that Zanu lacks real power since the military controls most decisions. The army will never let Zanu lose power because they use the party to control the country and pick leaders. They would work with anyone who seems acceptable internationally. That explains how Mnangagwa came back to become President. Chiwenga actually led the coup and could have taken the presidency himself. He chose not to because other countries would reject an obvious military takeover. They made a deal where Mnangagwa would serve temporarily until Chiwenga built political experience as a "civilian VP." Chiwenga wants what belongs to him - this continues from the 2017 coup, making it extremely drawn out. But Mnangagwa changed his mind about leaving. He pretends to lead a civilian government despite coming to power through the army. Even after losing to the opposition in 2017, soldiers rescued him by taking to the streets. Joyce Mujuru became VP instead of ED despite six provinces wanting ED to replace Simon Muzenda. The military blocked him through Solomon Mujuru, forcing all his supporters out of the party. ED then created a different plan by gaining influence inside the military itself. His 2017 actions finished that work, explaining why he wants to stay longer. He struggled many years trying to gain power but faced resistance from party members. Removing him presents much greater challenges than expected. Unlike Mugabe, who listened to reason, ED behaves differently.
