Ghana's money gained some strength against the American dollar on Monday. Banks offered 10.34 cedis when people wanted to buy dollars. They charged 11 cedis when customers sold dollars back to them. Currency exchange shops asked for higher prices than banks. People paid 11.90 cedis to get dollars and received 12.25 cedis when giving dollars away. Cedirates.com provided these currency numbers for the public. The website tracks money values and fuel costs across Ghana. Banks trading among themselves used slightly different rates. They bought dollars at 10.29 cedis and sold them at 10.31 cedis. These wholesale prices stayed close to each other throughout the day. British pounds cost more than dollars when people exchanged money. Customers paid 13.75 cedis to buy one pound from exchange bureaus. They received 14.55 cedis when selling pounds back to these shops. European euros fell between dollars and pounds for exchange rates. People paid 11.81 cedis for one euro and got 12.54 cedis when trading euros back. Money transfer companies offered competitive rates for overseas payments. LemFi charged 10.25 cedis per dollar for transfers from America or Britain. Hurupay asked for 10.33 cedis per dollar for similar services. British pound transfers varied more between different companies. Afriex charged 16.26 cedis per pound compared to LemFi's rate of 13.76 cedis. Digital payment services used standard rates for online subscriptions. Netflix and Spotify customers paid 11.07 cedis per dollar through Visa cards. Apple Music users faced the same exchange rate for their monthly bills. Mastercard holders also paid 11.07 cedis per dollar for digital purchases. These rates applied to most international online services that charged in dollars.
