President John Mahama picked famous actress Kalsoume Sinare to represent Ghana as Ambassador to Spain. The president announced this choice on June 10th through his office secretary. Sinare joins other new ambassadors chosen after talks with the Council of State. Former Kumasi Mayor Kojo Bonsu and former MP Nii Amasah Namoale also got picked for ambassador jobs. This appointment shows how creative people can serve their country through diplomacy. Sinare has worked as an actress for almost forty years and became very popular. She starred in movies like Babina, Beyoncé, Her Excellency, and A Taste of Sin during the 1990s. Her breakthrough movie came with Out of Sight, Out of Love back during 1993. She also competed for Miss Ghana and came second place during 1989. The actress later won Miss Model of Africa at a world contest held during Taiwan during 1990. The new ambassador studied hard and earned several degrees for this job. She has a Master's degree from GIMPA about international relations and diplomacy. Sinare also earned a Bachelor's degree about public administration. She learned about cultural diplomacy and African trade agreements through special courses. These studies prepared her well for working with other countries. Sinare runs several companies under Farikals Productions that work with healthcare, trade, construction, and entertainment. She supports the National Democratic Congress party and helped John Mahama during past elections. Her cousin Alhaji Said Sinare used to serve as Ghana's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. Parliament must approve her appointment before she can start working officially. Her background mixes culture, business, and government skills perfectly for representing Ghana abroad.
