The studio plans to release Sunrise on the Reaping during November 2026. All five Hunger Games movies have made over 3.3 billion dollars worldwide.

Producer Nina Jacobson praised both actors for their talent and experience. She worked with Porter before on the TV show Pose and knows his acting abilities well. Close brings eight Oscar nominations and three Tony wins to her new character. Porter won Tony awards for Kinky Boots and recently performed in London theater productions. The book sold 1.5 million copies during its first week in stores across several countries.
