Medical doctors chose their union leaders during weekend voting at the Government Medical Officers Association. Dr. Sanjeewa Tennakoon won another term as president of the doctor group. Union members selected 16 people to serve as Directors General for different areas. They also voted for 40 doctors to join the Central Committee that helps make decisions. The election results give the medical association new leadership for the coming year. Dr. Tennakoon and Dr. Sugathadasa will work with the newly chosen committee members. The voting process ensures that working doctors have a voice in how their profession moves forward.
