Gokwe Gears Up for All-Night Uhuru Music Fiesta

Musicians prepare for a 12-hour Independence celebration at Nembudziya Government High School in Gokwe tonight. The event runs from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and features stars including Simon Mutambi, Suluman Chimbetu, Andy Muridzo, and Sandra Ndebele. Many performers will visit Gokwe for the first time, creating extra excitement among local fans.

Gospel singer Argatha Murudzwa said she feels both anxious and thrilled about her debut in the area. Sandra Ndebele last performed there ten years ago and looks forward to bringing professional sound and lighting to rural music lovers. Mutambi considers rural audiences his core supporters and mentioned he enjoys performing outside major cities.

Sungura music fans can expect special treats from Mutambi, Clement Magwaza, Peter Moyo, and others experienced with large crowds. Chief Hwenje, famous for hits like Mai Welly, will perform in his home province. The Mbare Chimurenga Choir, Jah Signal, and mbira players add variety to the lineup.

The government previously brought national events to rural communities like Buhera, Bikita, and Mt. Darwin. These celebrations represent unity and strength among Zimbabweans as part of the country's 45th independence anniversary.
