Chiefs in Gokwe District feel special because the government picked their area to host the main independence party this year. They say this choice breaks the old idea that everyone ignores Gokwe and shows it matters just as much as other places in the country. Zimbabwe marks 45 years free from colonial rule at Nembudziya Growth Point in Gokwe North. The celebration uses the phrase "Zim@45: Devolve and Develop Together towards Vision 2030." About 60,000 people will come from every corner of Zimbabwe. The current government moves these big national parties around the country instead of keeping them in one place. Chief Chireya thanked the leaders for letting Gokwe host such an important event. He said he saw amazing changes happening when he visited Nembudziya Growth Point last Thursday. Chief Chireya praised President Mnangagwa and pointed out how the celebration brings lasting benefits. Schools like Nembudziya Government High School and Nyamuroro High School look much better than before. Workers fixed up classrooms and drilled new water holes to ensure everyone had clean water. The government added 110 water holes across both Gokwe North and South districts. Because of these celebrations, Gokwe North has a brand new stadium. People from nearby cities like Kadoma and Kwekwe will travel there to use it. Chief Nemangwe agrees that preparing for Independence Day helped the district grow. He expressed deep thanks to President Mnangagwa for noticing their area when others passed them by. The new buildings and fixed roads will remain after the party ends. These changes mark a big step forward for the community. Chief Nemangwe said Gokwe has changed from a forgotten place into an area where progress happens. Chief Njelele mentioned that local people want to meet the President face-to-face and tell him what they need for the future. Since 1980, Chief Njelele never attended the main independence celebrations. He explained these parties always happened in Harare, making travel hard. The current government changed this by spreading big events across different areas. Gokwe became the fourth place to benefit from this new approach. Roads, clinics, and schools all look better, thanks to the upcoming party. The celebration acts like a spark that starts long-term growth. President Mnangagwa often talks about how he values traditional leaders. The constitution backs up their importance. He asks chiefs to take charge and push for better living conditions where they lead.
