Gomoa Akropong No. 2 Celebrates Akwambo Festival, Emphasizes Education. Gomoa Akropong No. 2, Ghana - The Chiefs and people of Gomoa Akropong No. 2 celebrated their Annual Akwambo Festival last Saturday. The community is in the Gomoa Central District of the Central Region. During the festival's grand durbar, Chief Nana Odum Amanfo IV stressed the importance of investing in children's education. He said it can help families overcome economic hardships. "Our community values education," Nana Odum Amanfo IV stated. "We want to make sure the youth have access to quality education. We are preparing them to be future leaders." The Chief, who is also the Amankorahene of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area, announced plans for a modern ICT center. It will help students and adults learn about technology. "We live in a globalized world," he said. "Everything is done through computers. This is why we encourage parents to invest in their children's education." The community has an Educational Fund to support gifted but needy students. Omankrado Nana Dr. Agyakwa Akyen III urged the youth to get involved in community programs. He said they should see themselves as future leaders. "Everyone should help build our country," Nana Dr. Agyakwa Akyen III stated. "Nananom will work with you to develop our community." He encouraged citizens living abroad to visit home regularly. Ninfahene Nana Kweku Saa II told the youth to follow Nananom's example. He said their leadership has helped the community develop and improve living standards. Gomoa Akropong No. 2 has access to many social amenities thanks to Nananom's leadership.
