Ogun State has given the green light for fixing eleven roads across all three voting areas. Governor Dapo Abiodun led the State Cabinet meeting last weekend, where they made this decision. They approved many important roadways needing serious repairs throughout the state. The projects show the government wants better driving conditions for everyone. The biggest project covers the 9.2-kilometer stretch from Akute Bridge to Agbado Train Terminal. Officials added extra parking spots and several connecting streets as part of the deal. They also picked the 5.5-kilometer Gateway International Airport Road running from Iperu Junction to Ilishan Roundabout. The plan includes the 4-kilometer Imasayi-Igan Okoto-Ayetoro Road Phase 2B. More roads earned approval during the meeting—the 3-kilometer section from Imasayi to Igan Okoto and the 3.8-kilometer path connecting Gao Junction with Ibiade. The Cabinet selected Abeokuta Obalende-Ijebu Ode, measuring 2.75 kilometers, for repairs. Smaller projects made the list, including the 1.1-kilometer Osinubi New Road located at Araromi Street in Ijebu Ode. Additional approved streets include Tam Balogun in Ijebu Ode, which extends just 0.85 kilometers. Federal College Road, running 2.93 kilometers through Odogbolu, needs fixing. The Cabinet chose General Hospital-Aferiku road in Ipokia, which measures 2.8 kilometers. They added the 1.7-kilometer extension from Oke Erinja to Erinja to Ilobi Road as Phase 2. Governor Abiodun promised these repairs earlier when opening the first section on Tuesday. He told locals: "The Ilobi and Oke-Erinja areas rank among our food baskets across the state, making these roads top priorities for us." He explained stopping construction at Oke-Erinja happened without planning. "I heard many times that Erinja and Ilobi people connect like Siamese twins, and I refuse to separate them." The governor promised firmly: "We will finish that road all the way to Ilobi. You have my word it ends at Ilobi." He also mentioned plans to award the Sango-Ijoko-Akute road contract very soon. He believes connecting this area properly matters greatly. People might not appreciate his work on nearby streets unless crews complete this critical connection. "We care deeply about communities along our borders," Abiodun explained during his announcement. He mentioned visiting the Ifo Local Government several times lately because many residents travel between there and Lagos daily. "The Sango-Ijoko-Akute stretch runs about 17 kilometers. This major road connects Ogun West to Ogun Central and continues into Lagos," the governor added when describing the upcoming project.
