Gulu Council OKs 2025 Budget and Eyes Big Plans

Gulu District Council voted today for a money plan of 30 billion shillings they will use next year. Hon. Vicky Atim, the council's money person, spoke about this plan. Schools and sports will take the biggest share, with 10 billion shillings going their way. Health needs around 6 billion shillings, and offices must run on 5 billion shillings. Farms and markets asked for 3 billion shillings from the total amount.

The majority of cash flows from government program money, reaching almost 21 billion shillings. Free-use funds bring another 6 billion to the table. Extra government money adds 1.5 billion more to district pockets. Vicky talked about what the leaders discussed earlier. She said local chiefs must help collect taxes better. The group also wants smart plans for growing towns across Gulu lands.

Christopher Opio Ateker leads the whole district as chairman. He asked village heads and office staff to join hands for success. Everyone must pull together if they want the money plan to work right. The council members all raised their hands saying yes, without anyone fighting against the plan. All leaders agreed that this budget works for their needs.

The council picked a theme about making money move through all parts of Gulu. They hope to build better farm businesses with real profits. New factories should open doors soon. More helpful services must reach people everywhere. Computer skills need teaching fast. Finding buyers outside Gulu matters for local goods and products.

This budget helps Gulu grow stronger when used wisely by honest leaders. Teachers can teach better with more supplies in schools. Sick people find help at clinics with medicine on shelves. Farmers learn new tricks for growing crops that sell well. Roads improved for trucks carrying goods to markets far away. The council believes that money spent well brings better lives to everyone living in the Gulu District.
