Police arrested a school boss who stole money meant for student exams. Munyaradzi Rukweza runs Excel College without proper registration and appeared before magistrate Ruth Moyo. The 41-year-old collected cash from Form Four students between February and July. He promised to pay their examination fees to ZIMSEC but kept the money instead. Students lost over $1,600 and none has been recovered. Rukweza faces another charge for stealing a Toyota Noah vehicle. He made a deal with the car owner to use it for school activities in March. The agreement required him to pay $800 but he failed to honor the deal. Instead, he gave the vehicle to someone else as security for his personal debt. Court officials remanded him in custody until bail hearings. Another Harare school faces similar fraud allegations involving fake Cambridge exams. Parents at Destiny Achievers College paid $11,000 for their children to sit Cambridge O-Level tests. School owner Cynthia Gambiza collected the fees but never registered the students properly. The families discovered the June 2024 exams were completely fake. Parents demand justice after their children received worthless certificates from the bogus examinations.
