Hwange Man Hurls Stones at Neighbor During Prayer

A man aged 39 from Hwange destroyed his neighbor's possessions by throwing rocks during her prayer time. The court found Edmore Muleya guilty of damaging property. A local magistrate ordered him to perform 103 hours of community service as punishment for his actions. This event happened at night on January 26, 2025, around 9 o'clock.

Siphathiwe Mathe heard Muleya pelting her house with stones as she prayed inside. During his outburst, Muleya broke 14 sheets of asbestos roofing material. He also damaged a gray freezer, a green bucket, and a door. The total cost of repairs reached $614 US dollars. Police arrested Muleya after Mathe reported the damage.

A separate case involved another Hwange resident who attacked his neighbor with a stick. The attacker believed his neighbor had taken money from his phone case. The court sentenced him to serve 10 months in jail for the assault. His violent actions caused serious harm to the victim.

The injured neighbor suffered a broken wrist on his left arm. He also received a cut above his left eye during the attack. Medical staff at St Patrick's Hospital examined and treated his injuries. Both cases show how property disputes between neighbors escalated into criminal matters requiring court intervention.
