The police found out something strange about a robbery that people talked about recently. Someone who worked at a money shop told a lie about being robbed. This person said three men came into his shop at Kunkujang Badjie Estate with a gun. He claimed they tied up his worker, Yankuba Darboe, and took D77,275 from the shop. He reported this on the same day another bank, Access Bank, was actually robbed. Police chief Seedy Touray explained this person made up the story. The worker saw the news about the Access Bank robbery on the internet. He decided to pretend the same robbers came to his shop. He even said they drove the same BMW car. The person later asked the police if he could give back the money he stole. He wanted them to forget about what he had done. Police chief Touray said no. The police would take him to court because he had broken the law. Chief Touray said this fake story made things harder for the police. They were already busy dealing with the real robbery at Access Bank. Making up stories about robberies causes big problems for everyone.
