Parliament leaders from around the world finished their big meeting in Rome with calls for peace and better technology use. Zimbabwe Parliament Speaker Jacob Mudenda spoke at the gathering held at Palazzo Montecitorio. The conference focused on how lawmakers can work better with religious groups to build trust and hope. Mudenda told other speakers that parliament members have a huge job ahead of them. He said they must talk with different faith groups to learn about their beliefs and customs. Mudenda warned that lawmakers might struggle to create good laws if they skip this important step. He said bad laws could hurt people's basic rights and freedoms when they practice their religion. The Speaker also talked about artificial intelligence and how it can help different religions talk to each other. He mentioned that AI can translate languages instantly and create content that brings people together. Mudenda stressed that humans must control how AI gets used to prevent problems. The Zimbabwe Speaker quoted the late Pope Francis about hope being the key to peace around the world. The Inter-Parliamentary Union worked with Italy's Parliament and Religions for Peace to set up the two-day event. Religious leaders, United Nations workers, community groups and teachers all came to share ideas. IPU President Tulia Ackson ended the conference asking everyone to keep working on building bridges between different faiths through strong parliament involvement.
