The Isle of Wight Festival started back in 1968 and became massive by 1970 when over 600,000 people showed up to watch Jimi Hendrix and other famous bands. Weekend passes cost 289 pounds and single day tickets are available for 125 pounds each.

The weather looks perfect for the outdoor festival with sunny skies expected most of the weekend. Friday temperatures will hit 27 degrees with Saturday reaching 29 degrees before cooling down to 22 degrees on Sunday. Some rain might arrive Sunday evening but should not affect the main performances. Festival organizers ban glass bottles, knives, fireworks and many other dangerous items from the grounds.
