Justice Muzenda jailed Makono and Mahachi for life

A fatal ambush on railway tracks earned two killers life sentences after they stabbed an off-duty officer six times in September 2024.

Muzenda hands down life for both attackers

• Makono, 23, got nailed alongside Mahachi for killing Travor Mudinda.
• Mudinda was walking home when the attackers jumped him near the railway tracks.
• The duo ran to Mozambique after the killing and offloaded his phone.
• Timothy Charles, their third guy, is still dodging the cops.

Six stab wounds ended his life

• Makono and Mahachi hit him with six knife strikes that night.
• Blade went into his back, ribs, and both sides of his lower body.
• The assault happened between 6 PM and 7 PM during his walk home.
• His wallet, Samsung phone, and shoes all got snatched after he died.

Body found face down near the tracks

• Passmore Nyabeze spotted the corpse face down about 20 meters away.
• He was heading to Mwamuka Vegetable Market with a hospital guard.
• Makono spilled everything while locked up for another murder he committed.
• He confessed to flipping the stolen phone across the border as well.
