Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka wants an Azimio Parliamentary Group meeting next Wednesday. This comes after the High Court ruled that Azimio is the majority party in the National Assembly. The court overturned Speaker Moses Wetang'ula's earlier decision.

Kalonzo spoke to Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta about the need for the meeting. He told Azimio MPs to stay strong. Kalonzo believes Kenya Kwanza will not appeal the ruling.

"We hope there will be no stay order," Kalonzo said at a funeral in Kitui.

Judges John Chigiti, Jairus Ngaah, and Lawrence Mugambi made the ruling on Friday. They said Wetang'ula acted unreasonably when he assigned 14 former Azimio MPs to Kenya Kwanza.

Ken Njagi, Lempaa Soyinka, and 10 others filed the case. Kibe Mungai was their lawyer.

The 14 MPs come from UDM, MDG, MCC, and PAA parties. They wrote to Wetang'ula, saying they had left Azimio.

Wetang'ula claimed the parties signed post-election agreements with Kenya Kwanza, but he provided no evidence of this in court.

"Even Kimani Ichung'wah, who said he tabled the agreements in parliament, has not shown any proof," the judges said.

The ruling means Wetangula must respect the Registrar of Political Parties. As of April 2022, the registrar listed Azimio as having 26 parties and Kenya Kwanza 15.
