A truck crashed into taxis and motorcycles on Tuesday night near Kampala. Three people died and nine others got hurt at Wantoni in Mukono Municipality. The accident happened around 9 PM on the busy Kampala-Jinja highway. A big Fuso truck hit several vehicles parked at a taxi stop. Police say the truck driver could not stop his vehicle. The truck driver lost control and crossed onto the wrong side of the road. He smashed into three Toyota Hiace taxis and many motorcycles. Patrick Onyango from Kampala police explained that brake problems likely caused the crash. The truck driver ran away after the accident. Police officers are searching for the missing driver. Doctors are treating nine hurt people at different hospitals. The injured victims have names like Paul Ssaku and Bakiti Zafafu. Gerald Lubega and Jackson Kakumirizi also got hurt during the crash. Medical workers took the three dead bodies to Kawolo Hospital. Police continue investigating this deadly road accident.
