Kenya Power will shut off electricity across seven counties next Monday. The power cuts start at 9 AM and last until 5 PM on March 17, 2025. Workers need this time to fix and improve their equipment. After they finish these repairs, they aim to make electricity more reliable. People living in Kericho, Bomet, Kisii, Migori, Homa Bay, Makueni, and Nyamira should plan for the day. In Kericho County, the power stops will affect markets like Chemosit, Litein, and Kapkatet. Large places such as Tenwek Hospital, Kabianga University, Kabianga High School, Kabianga Dairies, and James Finlays must prepare as well. Bomet Town and many health centers face the same issue. Hospitals without power include Siloam, Tenwek Mission, Tenwek CTC, Longisa, Kaplong Mission, Ndanai Health Centre, and Chelymo. Several tea factories must stop running their machines, including Kisyet, Mara, Transmara Sugar, Evergreen, Sotik, Chebango, Stegro, Motigo, Tirgaga, and Ndarawetta. The blackout hits most major areas in Kisii County, like Kisii Town, Keroka, Keumbu, Marani, Suneka, Itibo, Igonga, Kegogi, Awendo, and Rongo. Migori County loses power in Migori Town, Uriri, Kehancha, Isebania, Ndhiwa, and Sori. Homa Bay residents should expect darkness in Homabay Town, Rangwe, Asumbi, Mbita, Rusinga Island, Magunga, Nyandiwa, Kiabuya, and Adiedo. Makueni County faces cuts at Wote Town, Makueni General Hospital, Law Courts, Thango, Watuka, Malawi, Bosnia, Mwaani schools, Shimo, Kaloski, and Kusyombunguo. Nyamira County has a longer outage starting earlier at 7 AM. The affected places include Nyamira town, Ikonge, Ngoina, Sanganyi, Kebirigo, Chabera, and Miruka.
