The Kenyan government is working hard to help unemployed people find jobs in other countries. Alfred Mutua, who works for the government, recently announced a big opportunity: 10,000 Kenyans could get construction jobs in Dubai. The hiring event will be held on January 3rd and 4th at Kenya Coast National Polytechnic. It will start at 8 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. People who are interested should bring their certificates and wear the right clothes for the practical tests. Mr. Mutua said that people who get hired will be offered jobs right away. After three days of medical tests and paperwork, they'll get their visas. Then, travel plans will be made quickly. Even if someone doesn't have a passport, the government will help them get one quickly if they're hired. Mr. Mutua worked hard to ensure that the costs for this opportunity were low and affordable. The jobs will pay between 33,000 and 60,000 Kenyan shillings per month. The best part is that this money will be tax-free. Plus, the company will give the workers a place to live, transportation, food, and healthcare for free. Mr. Mutua thinks this is an amazing chance for people to change their lives. He's encouraging everyone to come and see if they can get hired. The government already started hiring construction workers in December in two other cities called Nairobi and Nyeri. Some criticize the government for focusing on finding Kenyans jobs in other countries instead of creating jobs within Kenya. But the government believes this is a good way to help some of the over 5 million young Kenyans who don't have jobs. They're looking for all kinds of jobs abroad, like nursing, gardening, cooking, security, and housekeeping.
