[QUOTE="Munyaradzi Mafaro, post: 50635, member: 636"] Police grabbed nine crooks who stole stuff during wild street protests in Kagio. Officers raided homes across the town after someone reported the thefts at the local police station. The suspects had been hiding stolen goods from County Supermarket and Cash-Cash Club during the recent Saba Saba demonstrations. Cops found a massive 50-inch LG television, washing machine, power backup unit, computer parts and a monitor. The gang also stashed away three glass tables, two mattresses, cleaning products, perfumes and food items. The nine thieves are sitting in jail cells waiting for their court dates. Police say they plan to hunt down more suspects and grab back additional stolen property from the protests. Officers warned people against looting, smashing up shops and wrecking property during future demonstrations. The National Police Service promised to stay alert and protect lives and belongings across Kenya. These arrests are part of a bigger investigation into people who destroyed property during the recent protests. Police in nearby Nyeri already grabbed 21 people connected to the June 25 protests. A court gave 20 suspects the chance to pay cash bail after they got caught looting Naivas Supermarket. The 21 suspects included 10 women who appeared in court on Friday June 27. Eleven of them admitted to stealing while the other 10 said they were innocent and got a 100,000 shilling bond. Officers caught the suspects with mattresses and home appliances during their arrests.
