The appellants had argued that the initial award was excessive and that the injured man failed to produce his first treatment notes. The judge found that other medical documents sufficiently proved the injuries. The court determined the original compensation was disproportionately high after reviewing similar legal precedents. The award for special damages remains unchanged at 46,057 shillings.
