Klevgrand and Focusrite have teamed up on Altitude Harmony, a vocal plug-in that can add three extra voices to a track with just a few tweaks. It takes the core tech from Altitude, the pitch and harmony tool Klevgrand put out earlier, and makes it far easier to use. The big draw here is how little work it takes to get vocal layers going. One Harmonies dial picks the voice count and places each part higher or lower than the main vocal. Users can stick with a set musical scale or pick custom notes to get the sound they want. Pitch tuning gets the same simple treatment. A Style knob lets producers go from light fixes to that hard, robotic vocal sound. And the plug-in keeps the voice's natural tone intact by leaving its formants alone, even when the tuning gets quite intense. Four quick effects add more ways to shape the sound. Clones, Droid, Vibrato, and Tremolo each have a one-click button, with no deep menu work to deal with. Handy for anyone who wants to try a fresh vocal sound without spending ages on settings. Live singers get some useful perks as well. The settings menu has options for low-latency use and different vocal ranges. That makes the plug-in a good fit for studio tracking and stage use, where a delay can be a real pain. Focusrite boss Tim Dingley says the project came from a shared goal of making music tools fun and easy to use. He sees the joint effort as a chance to give customers a quick way to get creative without a lot of setup. Meanwhile, Klevgrand CEO Tobias Engström says working with Focusrite has been a great fit. He views the new release as a way to get the ideas behind Altitude into the hands of more people. For PC users, Windows 10 is the minimum. Mac users need macOS 10.13 or newer. The plug-in comes in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats, which gives producers a fair range of ways to run it. As for the cost, the launch deal puts Altitude Harmony at $29.99 rather than the usual $49.99. That is a $20 cut for anyone keen to try the new vocal tool.
