South Korea promised yesterday to help Zimbabwe crush corruption. Both countries signed papers in Seoul to make it official. The South Korean Anti-Corruption boss, Mr. Ryu, felt happy about the growing friendships between their nations. He praised Zimbabwe for fighting against dirty deals and offered to share what his team knows. South Korea has climbed to 30th place out of 180 countries in fighting corruption this year. Zimbabwe's corruption fighter, Mr. Michael Reza, wants to copy Korean methods like checking for risks and teaching government workers about honest behavior. Zimbabwe already promises officials to stay clean but plans to teach them more about doing the right thing. Korean laws are strict against bribes and protect people who report wrongdoing. The Koreans created many rules telling government workers how to behave properly. Zimbabwe and Korea have been friends for 31 years already. President Mnangagwa traveled to Seoul last June for an Africa meeting, where he talked directly with Korean President Yoon. They signed five different agreements about buying things, flying planes, growing food, and business deals. Ambassador Stewart Nyakotyo started this new partnership when he met with Korean officials. He called it a big step forward that matches President Mnangagwa's idea that Zimbabwe wants friends everywhere and enemies nowhere. This deal should help Zimbabwe reach its national goals for growth and development.
