Kreuzberg Audio just launched Raspel, its first free plug-in, with a filter and wavefolder in one signal path. The Drive knob doesn't stop at the start. It feeds each filter stage with a gain boost of up to 30 dB. The level drops back once it leaves the filter. Feedback stays linear even when Drive hits its max. And resonance gets more dense, not less stable. Auto gain keeps the output loudness in check, which helps users judge tone without a loud clip skewing the test. Character sits after the filter. Its wavefolder adds harmonics that help sub-bass come through on small speakers. Set it from 0.1 to 0.3 for more bass presence with no extra bulk. At 0.4 to 0.6, the tone turns into a metallic lead. Higher values get harsh enough for industrial tracks. There's a choice of BP4, HP4, HP2, LP6, LP4, and LP2 filter modes. Each switch has a 20 ms crossfade. Modern and Vintage offer two sound modes. Set Character to zero, and the signal stays bit-for-bit intact. At 48 kHz, 1x oversampling adds 59 samples of lag. The count goes to 108 at 2x, 120 at 4x, and 124 at 8x. Each setting has a clear delay cost. A mono maker works from 20 to 500 Hz with zero latency. Mix keeps dry and wet paths in sync and avoids comb filtering. There are 14 parameters that can be automated, while Smooth runs from 1 to 100 ms. The 50 factory presets have levels matched within 1 dB. Windows support is 64-bit, though the minimum OS version isn't listed. Macs need macOS 11 or newer. Linux users need an x86_64 system with Ubuntu 22.04 or later.
