A leader from Britain named David Lammy went to meet the president of Congo. He told the president that Britain might punish Rwanda if they didn't take their soldiers out of Congo and stop helping a group called M23. These M23 fighters have taken over big parts of Congo, making many people leave their homes. Britain wants to help make peace. It can do this because it belongs to a special group at the United Nations that makes important decisions. Mr. Lammy said Britain would use all its power to ensure everyone follows the peace promises they made at a meeting in Tanzania. Rwanda says they need to protect themselves. They told everyone that bad people attacked their town near Congo and hurt many people. Rwanda thinks Congo is helping these bad people who want to hurt Rwanda. They say they only want to keep their country safe. The president of Congo, Mr. Tshisekedi, was happy Britain wanted to help. He wants everyone to talk and make peace instead of fighting. Because of all the fighting, many people had to run away from their homes. More than 700,000 people left their houses this year to stay safe. Britain promised to send help to the people who had to leave their homes. They will give this help through special groups that know how to take care of people during hard times. Other big countries like America and France also want Rwanda to stop fighting. America already punished an important person from Rwanda because they think he helped start the fighting. Rwanda keeps saying it didn't do anything wrong, but if Britain decides to punish it, it could make things very hard for Rwanda. It might be difficult for Rwanda to sell things to other countries or make friends with them.
