Zimbabwe's top companies received awards Friday night during the 2025 ZimBrands ceremony at Golden Conifer hotel. Business leaders and government officials gathered to celebrate local brands that showed quality and innovation. Permanent Secretary Thomas Utete Ushe praised domestic companies for creating jobs and strengthening the economy through local production. The Buy Zimbabwe campaign encourages citizens to choose products made within the country rather than imports. Government officials promised to fight smuggling and fake goods that hurt local manufacturers. Buy Zimbabwe chairman Munyaradzi Hwengwere conducted the country's largest consumer survey with 7,200 people participating across Zimbabwe. The research asked what makes shoppers choose one brand over another brand during purchase decisions. Winners earned recognition for excelling at price, quality, customer service and new product development. Seed Co won the agricultural inputs award and Zimplow claimed the farming equipment prize. Pearlenta took the mealie meal award and Zimgold earned the cooking oil recognition. Zimplats received honors for supporting local businesses through supplier development programs across the mining sector. Econet won the voice services award and NetOne claimed the data services prize during telecommunications competition. ZESA Enterprises, Fivet Animal Health and Blue Ribbon Foods earned innovation awards for developing new products. Gloria Munchies, Ufresh and Sunsoya received emerging brand recognition for rapid growth. Ashell Ruswa became the ZimBrands Champion of the Year for promoting local products.
