MonsterDMX lets an Ableton Live track carry audio control of DMX lights without a lighting console or companion program. LOFI Monster Studio offers the device free for Max for Live, supporting two fixtures, separate or paired, with RGB(W) color settings.

One master dimmer sets total brightness, and blackout turns every light off at once. Attack is adjustable, release is adjustable, and the audio follower can make brightness react to the track. Pulse, strobe, gradual, and jump make up the four effects, and each gets a separate rate setting. MIDI can map every parameter, while Live can automate them all.

Oddball PAR channel orders can be reassigned on the device, and low-cost uDMX USB-DMX adapters work with it. Compatibility covers Windows 10 and Windows 11, paired with Ableton Live version 11 or version 12 and Max for Live. At least one DMX PAR light and a uDMX interface are needed.

Zadig handles the one-off driver step, and LOFI Monster Studio includes setup instructions. Mac users get no version. The download uses pay-what-you-want pricing, with free as an option.
