[QUOTE="Nehanda, post: 29334, member: 2262"] Lucy Nakyobe Mbonye visited the Uganda Registration Services Bureau recently. She brought along many permanent secretaries and several officials from Singapore. As Head of Public Service, she wanted everyone to see how URSB modernized its registration systems. The group toured the Uganda Business Facilitation Centre to see these improvements firsthand. URSB staff members showed off their latest technology advances during the tour. They explained how these changes made registration faster and easier for citizens across Uganda. Ms. Nakyobe seemed impressed by what she saw throughout the facility. Because of this visit, she announced a major change for government leaders. Starting next year, permanent secretaries must focus on updating technology systems. Nakyobe said this would become their main performance goal for 2025-2026. She believes every ministry should create simpler processes for citizens. The visiting officials asked many questions about business permits and copyright protection. Francis Butagira leads the URSB Board as Chairman. He thanked everyone for coming to see their operation. Just days earlier, they had welcomed foreign diplomats to the same facility. Butagira thinks strong institutions like URSB help attract new business investments to Uganda. Alex Anganya is the Deputy Registrar General at URSB. He discussed working closely with other government departments and praised both the board members and staff for their hard work. Anganya also thanked government leaders for supporting their efforts to improve services. This special visit helped strengthen connections between different government agencies. It highlighted how URSB helps businesses register properly in Uganda. The bureau continues working to improve investment opportunities, contributing to economic growth throughout the country.
