[QUOTE="Munyaradzi Mafaro, post: 44485, member: 636"] Motley Crue ruled the Sunset Strip long before their huge power ballad Home Sweet Home hit the airwaves. The band had already released three albums and created many wild glam metal songs about partying and romance. Home Sweet Home became a massive MTV hit that brought new fans to the group. The Theatre Of Pain album that featured this song celebrates its 40th anniversary tomorrow. Motley Cwhile has just released a fresh version of Home Sweet Home with country music legend Dolly Parton. Nobody expected this surprising collaboration between the metal band and the country superstar. Back in 1985, Parton was finishing her major pop music phase after the failed movie Rhinestone with Sylvester Stallone. Motley Crue probably was not on her radar during those days. Parton continues making rock covers after her 2023 album ROCKSTAR where Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue helped out. She also covered Tom Petty songs and worked with Sabrina Carpenter recently. Home Sweet Home always had some country music elements since the band members wore cowboy hats in the original video. Country singer Carrie Underwood made her version of the song a minor hit back in 2009. This new collaboration appears on the upcoming greatest hits collection called From The Beginning. The track might not be essential but hearing Parton sing alongside Vince Neil creates an entertaining experience. From The Beginning comes out September 12th.
