Alick Macheso and Somandla "Mafia" Ndebele to Kick Off 2025 with Warren Park Show. Alick Macheso and Somandla "Mafia" Ndebele will start their 2025 performance schedule tonight. They will play at Warren Park Council Bar in Harare. The two sungura music stars spent much of the recent holiday season performing together. Their collaboration has been a big success. Macheso played at a cigarette brand launch last week. But tonight's show is his first official concert of the new year. Event organizers say Macheso will perform his classic hits and new songs. They believe his music will lift fans' spirits after a difficult January. Ndebele has been performing since 1989. He and Macheso are living legends of sungura music. The venue's co-owner, Danny Chiku, expects a full house. He last hosted Macheso in March 2023. Having Ndebele on the bill this time is an added draw. Ndebele said sharing the stage with Macheso is a blessing. The two began working together in 2023, and last year, they played many shows as a duo. "Fans loved our combination," Ndebele stated. He thanked Macheso's team for the partnership. The two acts plan to perform more joint concerts. Ndebele said the shows will allow his band to play for bigger crowds and gain new fans. Macheso's publicist said the group was ready to perform after a break. "We gave fans time to recover from holiday spending and school fees," he explained. Orchestra Mberikwazvo will play without Ndebele in Mudzi District on Saturday. Macheso wants to bring his music to every part of Zimbabwe.
