Magambo stressed his directorate has no power to intervene in such disputes and told people to ignore the rumors. He ended by asking the public to focus on national development instead of misinformation. The police statement had earlier emphasized they could only act on a valid court order regarding the property and reaffirmed their commitment to impartial law enforcement.
